Unit 2 D1

If somebody is:
·         Confident.

·         Organised.

·         Dependable.

·         Good at working as a team.

Then an I.T technician is the perfect job for you as you need to be confident in this job because they would need to communicate frequently in order to successfully complete the job. Therefore an IT Technician has occurred me to believe people in this role are confident, meaning this job role meets this employee characteristic.

Also you need to be organised for an I.T technician role because they will require different equipment in order to complete certain jobs. Therefore, an employee who works as an IT Technician would have a great standard of organisational skills, making this a suitable job role for somebody with this particular characteristic.

You must be dependable as it is a requirement to travel around most of the time, some days out of hours in order to complete the job. If they are willing to fully commit themselves to this job, I would say that an IT Technician is a suitable role for somebody with this particular characteristic.

Finally you must be able to work as a team fairly well as you may be required to work with certain numbers of people. For an IT Technician, you may have to work with another person you may not be fully acquainted with in order to complete the job.

These are the reasons why I think people with these particular characteristics would suit the role of an I.T technician role perfectly.

What we need from you
·         Being committed i.e. sacrifice family obligations, social life, and hobbies for your career. You should also be flexible around the hours of the clock and be willing to take things like overtime.

·         Performance related pay and setting targets for example you must be willing to perhaps take a pay if your work is not 100% neither will your wages be.

·         Being able to take advice i.e. find at least one experienced mentor and learn as much from them as you can.

Why these are vital
·         You must be committed for example being able to sacrifice family obligations, social life and hobbies because you don’t know when you will need to do things like overtime, maybe have to take things like projects and works at home, you may get a vital call from work saying there is a serious issue and you must come immediately so these things could really clash with your life outside of work.

·         Performance related pay like you must be willing to take a pay cut because if you have not been doing enough putting 100% in to you work your weeks wages will be cut.

·         You have to take advice from an experienced mentor as you at first will be a rookie into the business, this experienced mentor will have been here for years so therefore all the years of working here and experience will come of a great use to you also if you have any problems/queries he is the man to go to.
